Paris 1900 Exhibit

One afternoon Gabriela, Kay (a neighbor) and I went to the Portland Art Museum to see the “Paris 1900” Exhibit. Paris had a huge World’s Fair that year, 51 million people from all over the world attended. The feeling I got at the exhibit was the optimism generated by the World’s Fair, science and technology were making life easier, electricity, and other developments, the first subway was being built in Paris. This was before the first World War when some of these high hopes were no doubt dashed. At least that was the feeling I got from the exhibit.
